Little Scientist: The science behind a Kaleidoscope
Learn the science behind kaleidoscope and make one take home.
A kaleidoscope is an optical instrument with two or more reflecting surfaces. Objects on one end of the mirrors are seen as a regular symmetrical pattern when viewed from the other end, due to repeated reflection.
A simple workshop will be conducted for the kids that will teach them about a mirror and their uses in a Kaleidoscope. The kids will learn about how and why different patterns are produced in a kaleidoscope. They will also be making their own kaleidoscope to take home.
